Le Groupe’s Artistic Director Peter Boneham along with Co-Artistic Director Tony Chong program each season’s creative processes (choreographic residencies). Since 1988, Mr. Boneham has invested his expertise and energy to the creation of outstanding new dance in Canada and abroad. Seasoned and emerging choreographers are invited to apply for a residency (3 to 4 week-long) with a focus on the creative process, not production. The Lab sessions concentrate on the process of making dance, without the stress of delivering a full-production work at the end. Choreographers come to the Lab with a specific goal in mind: to find new sources of material, to explore their movement vocabulary, to experiment with a complementary art form, to further investigate their creative process.

Choreographers interested in applying for residency at the Dance Lab should send a letter of intent and a video of their most recent work to Peter Boneham. Please note residencies at the Lab are usually planned two years in advance.
